Now and Ahead

I wish each and everyone of you a Happy New Year filled with good health, success and career fulfillment.

I am please to announce that in slightly more than four years, First Investment Specialize Bank( the Bank) has grown more than 3 times the original start up capital to

12,000,000.00 USD and has now five business locations to serve the customers. Put this growth aside, our most significant achievement has been the beginnings of its maturing in its various policies, loan portfolio management,  computerized of various management systems etc…

I have to admit that when the Bank first opened and launched in the late 2005, I had no idea how progressed it would be now or whether its model would sustain. I am very encouraged and pleased with our customers’ support under the diligent work of our management and team and look forward to a new year of providing additional banking and investment services. Let’s review the accomplishments of past year:

BOD has adopted the following.

  • Launched the Bank's website
  • Launched the Annual Report 2008 and monthly Financial Statement on the web
  • Enquired on hardware and software from various vendors ( for new location).
  • Increased of paid up capital to $12,000,000.00 as approved by NBC.
  • Processed a syndicated loan.
  • Printed standard checks and circulated them on schedule
  • Trained employees on new core banking software.
  • Developed the plan of action fo BOD's composition, role and responsibility and a Corporate Governance Guidelines for the bank.
  • Selected a new Independent Auditor
  • Restructured IT department, loan department etc.....

Most worthy of note is that all of our accomplishments and growth have come from our management and team members. The future success of the Bank will also be contingent upon the knowledgeable efforts of its employees and the recognition from management.

The Bank is contemplating in upgrading itself to become a full banking service. The preparation of management and the readiness of its employees are fully aware. While our new services may not debut as rapidly as you would like, but slowly and surely we will succeed to meet our goals.

Our human resources, while gradually improving, is still slow. We want to propose additional services and efficiencies by suggesting how to achieve them with minimal effort and little expense. Also one should bear in mind that I must consider issues such as processes, governance and cost and how they will impact us in the future.

Finally, I must express my gratitude to our valued customers who contributed greatly to our growth and success in the past especially during the economic crisis of 2009. Also, we would not have achieved what we did without our employee’s contributions. First Investment Specialized Bank has a great future ahead. Keep networking and stay active. This New Year shows greater hope and promise than did 2009. May we all have a great 2010! Happy New Year.
